One of the largest internet companies Baidu, or Chinese Google, has launched its own blockchain Xuperchain in beta version, reads the MIT Technology Review article.

Xuperchain launch will allow small and medium-size businesses and developers to create their own decentralized applications.

Strictly speaking, in this case they are not so decentralized, since the company is compliant with Chinese blockchain regulations that require to collect national ID level data on all nodes.

Yet, smart contacts functionality is still out there, making transactions more secure and easier to process.  Moreover, new service is reportedly user-friendly, meaning that small businesses could really afford it in terms of headcount.

According to MIT Technology Review authors, Xuperchain launch might mark the upcoming wave of blockchain adoption in China, in the light of President Xi’s call for action.
