Coinbase becomes the first cryptocurrency company to join Visa as a principal member, shared the US-based digital currency exchange in the press release.
The partnership with Visa started in 2019 with launching the Coinbase Card, that allows to use Visa debit card to use cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum, in everyday purchases. Now the card is available in 29 markets.
As stated in the press release, being a Visa principal member will help Coinbase expand the geography of the product and the number of available features in all markets, “making it easier to spend cryptocurrency in everyday situations”.
Also, according to major US cryptocurrency exchange, this news means a whole new step in the industry, that now depend on the quality of the cryptocurrency payment experience:
