13% of Population To Play Online Video Games Players by 2024
Recent years online video gaming industry has been growing rapidly and this growth is expected to continue: 2020 online gaming revenue is expected to hit $17.1 billion, while in 2024 the industry will enjoy $17.8 billion, shared League of Betting analysts.
According to analysts data, last three years, the number of online video games players had been increasing annually by 50 million users. Since the trend is expected to continue, by the end of 2020, there will be more that 870 million gamers, and by the end of 2024 – 1 billion, or around 13% of the entire population.
Gaming analysts also revealed that more than one-third of the online gamers are between 24 and 35 years old, and 40% of online video gamers are women.
China leads the top 5 gaming markets by the number of players, representing 40% of the gaming population. The second top market, according to the analysts, is the US with over 60 million of users, followed by Japan with roughly 25 million, South Korea and United Kingdom.
