All organizations that develop “advanced AI should be regulated, including Tesla”, both by governments and on a global scale, shared Elon Musk on his Twitter page.
The tweet came as the response to the article on how “competitive pressure eroded” transparency missing in the leading AI research laboratory OpenAI published on MIT Technology Review.
Around four years ago Elon Musk was one of the cofounders of the OpenAI, but later he quit the project. MIT article argues that there is a “misalignment” between company’s public imaging with focus on transparency and collaboration and the reality that happens “behind closed doors”.
Earlier, Elon Musk has already expressed his stance on the need for regulations, naming AI “our biggest existential threat” and suggesting that government committee to gain “insight about AI” for developing effective measures to ensure safety.
As Future Time previously reported, EU Commission has unveiled the proposal on how to regulate AI that awaits public input until May.
