Brazilian Government Proposes Blockchain-Issued University Diplomas
Brazilian Ministry of Education has proposed to create a blockchain platform for issuance of diplomas obtained from private universitities.
Blockchain system is expected to help the government with the fight against the diplomas falsification in Brazil, as well as give universities additional means for self-regulation, shared minister Abraham Weintraub.
According to the former president of the National Education Council Gilberto Garcia, the measures could also contribute to the realisation of the transparency goal.
Per local media, blockchain system might be funded by the private universities themselves, given that they are responsible for issuing diplomas in the country, and 14 universities has already expressed the interest to join the program.
